What is Limonene?
Limonene gets it name from Citrus Limon (lemon), and rightfully so. Limonene is abundant in citrus fruits and the skins of lemons, oranges, and limes. This monoterpene gives citrus its sour, sweet, and fruity taste and smell. At room temperature, isolated limonene is a clear, colorless liquid. Interestingly, limonene is one of the most abundant terpenes in nature and can be found in lemongrass and some mint oils.
